Plaza Farms

in Healdsburg, CA

On June 17, 2005, Plaza Farms opened in Healdsburg, CA at 106 Matheson St. It’s located in the old Felix & Louis restaurant space facing the Healdsburg town square. Plaza Farms offers a market/food hall with eight small artisan producers of cheese and olive oil, chocolate and tea, local fruits, vegetables and wines and a tiny restaurant.

Purveyors in the new space include:
DaVero Olive Oil
Bellwether Farms cheese
Teaspots specialty teas
Scharffen Berger chocolate maker
Philip Staley winery
Tandem winery
David Coffaro winery
Bovolo restaurant (our review here)

There is also some space allotted to the Healdsburg Farmers’ Cooperative where local produce from local farmers will be offered.

The 24-seat restaurant from Zazu owners John Stewart and Duskie Estesis called Bovolo and features "slow food… fast." The menu includes pizzas, house-cured meats and gelatos, wines by the glass, and a bellini bar.

Plaza Farms is designed after the Ferry Plaza Marketplace - on a tiny scale. The concept of Plaza Farms was conceived by Ridgely Evers and Colleen McGlynn of DaVero. Oakville Grocery veteran Gordonelle Weisgerber is the manager.

The proceeds from the Plaza Farms Tasting Card and Bovolo's "Better Butter" (peanut butter shortbread filled with peanut butter gelato, all dipped in Scharffen Berger chocolate) ice cream sandwiches go to support scholarship awards through Healdsburg High School for children of farmworkers and farm families.

Plaza Farms is open every day except Wednesday from 10:30am to 7:30pm. Bovolo, will be open from 11:00am to 9:00pm, adding breakfast on weekends starting at 9:00am
